In Japan, this episode along with episode 027 aired together as a one hour Special (due to Naruto moving to Prime Time in Japan). In the english version Viz Media cut this Special into 2 thirty minute episodes.
This episode recaptured what went on in previous episodes so most of the editz in this episode were originally from previous episodes.

Note: In , there was a scene with trees blowing in the wind that was redrawn.
When this episode began this scene played again but instead of the using the edited scene, it was the unedited one.
While Anko begins telling everyone who passed the first test where they are, the scene shifts to a Restricted Area sign. This sign was translated into english from japanese.
While Naruto introduces the characters, the scene with Sasuke eating food was replaced by Kakashi's genjutsu of Sasuke.

Still continuing with Sasuke's introduction, when Naruto impersonates him and has to run off to the bathroom, the bathroom scene on the right was removed and replaced with a shot of the outside area.
Konohamaru and his friends suddenly appear after Sasuke and Kakashi leave. Konohamaru says Naruto has done well, making Sakura his girlfriend and all. She responds with punching him in the face. The blood from Naruto's mouth was edited out.
