As the roulette chooses its first participants for the third exam, Yoroi Akado and Sasuke Uchiha's names come up on the screen translated in english.
As Sasuke continues fighting Yoroi the curse seal starts to activate. Sasuke's reaction ends with him spitting up blood in the japanese version.
Clip: Lee is amazed that Sasuke was able to copy his technique after only seeing it once! While Lee reminisced about his fight with Sasuke, the scene when Sasuke activates his Sharingan was changed again. The Sharingan flashed between Rock Lee and his red eyes in the english version while in the japanese version it just changed from his red eyes to Rock Lee once.
Clip: The first round is over, with Sasuke emerging as the victor! Again the the characters' japanese names were replaced with the characters' english names on the roulette.
Clip: The second match is about to begin and Sakura reminisces about Sasuke breaking Zaku's arms. The red tinted scenes were again changed to the green tinted scenes.
Zaku surprises Shino by using Slicing Sound Wave jutsu on him! As Shino lay on the floor, smoke and dust flew up into the air. In the english version the smoke and dust covered Shino's whole body, in the japanese version it did not.
Clip: Kakashi activates Curse Sealing to quarantine Sasuke's curse mark. As the seals travels up Sasuke's body, the wavey motion was redone in a few scenes in the english version.
Immediately after Kakashi finishes quarantining Sasuke's Curse Seal, Orochimaru comes out from behind a pillar! In the english version his body was clearly distinguishable, while in the japanese version he was masked by the darkness.
The camera scans Orochimaru's body from the ground up. As it does a purplish aura is present completely around his body in the japanese version. In the english version it's only present behind him and to his sides.
Clip: During the preview for episode 040 entitled "Kakashi and Orochimaru: Face-to-Face!", as heard in previous episode previews, the music was off key. The english version's music was a second or two ahead of the japanese version's music. Also, the english version added an extra scene with Kakashi at the end.
